The Singer
Born David James Dockery, January 22, 1952 in Hollywood, C.A. He first discovered his talent for singing and his love for music in the 50's where he would spend hours in his room singing to the record player ( remember records? ). He began his music career when he joined his first rock band the Daylighters at age 13. They played one show with a song list of 10 songs and spent alot of time in the garage after that. He spent the next few years honing his talent and performing with several popular L.A. based bands (Avalanche, Shy, Paradox) which opened for some now well know acts such as Van Halen, Pat Travers, Rick Derringer, The Runaways to name a few, in the 70's. He left L.A. in the early 80's for the Bay area to join the rock group Excalibur. The band played all original music written by himself and lead guitarist Scott Frus. The band enjoyed 11 years of musical success (locally) and even had a couple of songs hit the local radio stations. The audiences loved the band and their music, but unfortunatly not so the local critics. While they did acknowlage the bands talent they said the music was ahead of it's time.(later to be likened to Nirvana ?) He now lives in Oregon where he does karaoke shows and couldn't be happier.
